The ISFSI Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing and coordinating facility troubleshooting, maintenance, and modification of the support systems at the Kewaunee Power Station. Additionally this individual will provide work planning and scheduling as well as coordinating/overseeing supplemental worker and vendor activities. Responsible for applying knowledge and technical skills to provide technical project management, design and procurement of materials and technical direction to station and/or contactor personnel. Provides expert technical support, direction and advice in analyzing and evaluating plant systems, equipment and programs. Performs technical evaluations of events to recommend corrective actions..Activities include:Training employees,Performing surveillances per the applicable technical specifications and programs,Maintaining fire protection equipment,Maintaining heating and ventilation equipment,Assisting with response to chemical spills and environmental concerns,Performing corrective and preventive maintenance,Performing work in accordance with industrial and nuclear safety standards,Maintaining and repairing HVAC and plumbing systems,Maintaining the facility grounds including lawn care and snow removal,Coordinating maintenance activities with vendors,Maintenance and coordination of material management including procurement and inventory control,Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Required experience for this position is at least 5-9 years power plant operations/maintenance experience, of which 2 years shall be nuclear power plant, nuclear navy or ISFSI experience. Electrical and/or I&C experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in operations or maintenance is required. Person in this role shall have knowledge of plant equipment and experience in working with vendors to determine when to call consultants and contractors for dealing with problems beyond the scope of owner-organization expertise.Strong analytical and abstract thinking problem solving skills, ability to process information quickly. Is Effective working independently or in a team environment.Equipment knowledge including understanding of heating, cooling and ventilation systems, pumps, valves, motors and breakers and understanding of safe mechanical, electrical and radiation work practices, lockout tagouts. Experience creating and performing work packages.Knowledge of design and operation of complex systems and equipment which may be indicated by advanced certification of licenses is desirable.Knowledge of industry codes, government regulations and company policy and practices including NRC regulations is desirable.
